I have always loved the look of a Dresden quilt pattern. I love all the eclectic patterns thrown together in a haphazard way that really creates an overall cool boho effect. I have always wanted to make one out of thick tapestry velvets, but I never had found the right tutorial to help me understand exactly how these quilts are put together. I recently found this beautiful Dresden quilt video tutorial by Pattern Pool TV, on YouTube, and I knew I had finally found the right quilt block tutorial for my needs and skill level. This quilt can be made with any fabric you choose and does not have to match. You could even find old clothes at the thrift store to use. One thing for sure, this quilt will be fantastic no matter what fabric choices you decide to use!
Materials For The Dresden Plate Quilt Block:
- Fabric (according to the video tutorial instructions)
- Pattern for Dresden quilt
- A sewing machine
- A quilter’s ruler
- A rotary cutter
- A cutting mat
- A pair of scissors
- Quilter’s fabric adhesive spray (this really helps everything stick together better than pins)
In this beautiful Dresden quilt video tutorial by Pattern Pool TV, on YouTube, you will learn how to make this awesome quilt pattern in a few easy steps. You will begin by sewing the four strips together, then cutting them into sections. This pattern is so easy!
Then, you will sew those four sections together onto the backing.
