April is here and so is Spring and today is Easter Sunday! If all that doesn’t put a hop in your step, then today’s list of for Sew Thankful Sunday will. It’s time for some fresh ideas and perhaps some Spring sewing!

Quilters are very generous people and are often looking for ways to contribute their creative gifts to the community. A wonderful opportunity is taking place with the Hands2Help Comfort Quilt Challenge hosted by Sarah at Confessions of A Fabric Addict. This is the eleventh year of the challenge and there are five organizations you can donate a quilt to. This challenge runs through the end of May with a linky party (if you choose to link up) and prizes. Quilts should be mailed to your chosen charity by June 11, 2021. You’ll also find guest bloggers at Confessions of A Fabric Addict who are providing tutorials and tips for quilters specifically for this challenge.
I have a large supply of fabric scraps and I’m always looking for ways to use them. Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs recently shared a great scrap buster project with her Rock and Roll Baby Quilt Tutorial. You could make this any size you want but a baby quilt seems very manageable to me.

There are so many ways to apply binding, but sometimes you have to think about the bulk it adds. I saw this excellent Single Fold Binding Tutorial by Dawn at First Light Designs and it eliminates the bulky corners and edges of traditional double-fold binding. It is a perfect technique for smaller projects.

Tote bags seem to be a harbinger of Spring and making them are fun if you know what you’re doing. I just read these Tips for Installing Magnetic Snaps on Bags by Geta at Geta’s Quilting Studio. She has some great ideas to make this process easy and fast.

English Paper Piecing has been making a comeback for a long time and I’m always learning something new about it. For example, Auribuzz just featured Choosing Thread Colors for EPP by Kitty at Night Quilter for a little education on the topic. I love Kitty’s photography and she definitely knows her thread!

Whether it’s a little kitchen helper or a young artist, this Free Kids Apron Pattern (in 3 sizes) from Abby at Sew Much Ado will keep the mess off their clothes! You could customize this with your child’s favorite color or theme and maybe let them help you make it.
Tulips are blooming inside and out with this Hello Spring Paper Piecing Pattern from Charise at Charise Creates. I can imagine a row of these potted tulips together for my own indoor window box!
Another cute project from Charise Creates is this sweet Ruffle Purse. This clutch is perfect for Spring with soft Liberty florals, linen fabric, and a lace accent. This would be adorable for my granddaughters too!
