Thursday Favorite Things Party

Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things Party Happy Thursday dear friends. I hope your week has been good so far. I hurt my back last Friday as I attempted to get up off the ground (I was weeding a flower bed) and felt it go. It is better, but taking its time healing. I can walk, but sitting and then getting up still hurts. I have not been able to go to my Zumba classes and that has me bummed but I am sure it will be ready by next Monday.  With Easter approaching, I picked some cool posts that might be of interest for your Easter. I hope you have a great rest of your week and an awesome weekend. Many of...

bin-bin: the sound of having lots of sex of dubitable quality * The sex I had before going to Japan was British, and it didn’t involve many words. Of course language paved the way, in both long- and short-term senses, and I suppose the deed was punctuated by certain phrases, but my memory of it is of bodies speaking in the place of mouths, a silent communing of skins. There are two ways of reading this wordlessness, which pull in opposite directions: speaking drew attention to what was going on and brought up feelings of embarrassment, so it was therefore avoided; and speaking mediated the experience, made it a less sensual one. The silence never seemed to me like a...

The ‘Go Big Or Go Home’ House Has Officially Made It’s Appearance in the BSL Office

The good ole' BSL Office got a little revamp last week...and it's one of those full circle moments! Back in college, I interned at Nate Berkus Associates. One of the head designers there had a pin board of inspiration images that she was constantly changing. It was honestly one of my favorite things I took away from that internship (among a lot of things) and after I saw that, I knew that someday I would have a pin board of my own. Fast forward, and we now have THREE huge pin boards in the BSL Office! I built these right when we moved into the office because I needed something real big to distract from how weird the wall was....
